Motion Lamps

Scene-in-Action

I know nobody gives a rap about motion lamps except the few collectors out there, well this page is for those few collectors and maybe a few of you that are just a bit curious.  These five are the complete catalog of this shape lamp made by the Scene-in-Action Company.  They did make one more which was offered on some cruise line as a promotion for their maiden voyage, it has a picture of a passenger liner on it.  These lamps were made between the mid 20's thru the mid 30's and cost around $3.95 to $4.50, which is about $80 in today's dollars.  The base and top are made of cast iron and a 1/4" glass cylinder for the picture with heat generated from a light bulb to turn the spinner on the inside.
